Seed Week by Bversity has been one of the most memorable and enriching parts of my learning journey. From the very beginning, it was exciting to meet my batchmates in person. They were an incredible group of people, each bringing their own unique perspective and energy. I also had the chance to meet members from the previous batch, which was equally inspiring. Being around such a passionate and talented community was motivating in itself.

One of the highlights was meeting the founders of Bversity. We interacted with Raghul, the Co-founder and Chief Learning Officer, whose session had a lasting impact on me. We also met Sudharsan, the Founder and CEO. Hearing their thoughts and vision for Bversity was truly special and gave us a sense of the impact they are working to create.

“Seed Week was one of the most memorable and enriching parts of my learning journey.”

The days were filled with insightful sessions led by industry experts. A session by Inavamsi Enaganti completely shifted my perspective. It showed us how to think differently, approach problems creatively, and look for simple yet effective solutions without compromising what we already have. Later, Raghul also delivered a session that encouraged us to see problems through fresh lenses and develop out-of-the-box solutions. These sessions were not only intellectually stimulating but also gave me tools to think more critically and innovatively.

Another unforgettable experience was the hackathon-style session conducted by Vaibhav Sai. We formed groups and worked on exciting challenges such as DNA data storage. It was during this session that I got introduced to new bioinformatics tools like Prokka. Working in teams, brainstorming solutions, and finally presenting our work was both challenging and fun. Although I am usually shy, I volunteered to present my team’s project. Standing in front of everyone and explaining our work in detail was a moment of growth for me. With the support of my teammates and guidance from Vaibhav, I gained a new sense of confidence. The appreciation I received further encouraged me, and I realized how much I enjoyed sharing knowledge with others.

Beyond technical learning, Seed Week also emphasized professional and personal development. A session by Aparna P on interview skills, CV building, and soft skills was extremely useful. It made me reflect on how I present myself and what qualities matter in professional environments. Similarly, Vyomesh Javle’s talk gave us deeper insights into bioinformatics, while Manoharan Malini, AVP at Agilisium Consulting, shared her inspiring journey, motivating us to pursue our goals with determination.

“It showed us how to think differently and approach problems creatively.”

We also had an eye-opening session with Sudharshan on the business model canvas. This helped us understand how businesses work, what it takes to build sustainable solutions, and how to prioritize focus areas. I found the lessons equally relevant to life outside of work, especially in building habits and managing time effectively.

The week concluded with a roundtable discussion that brought together industry experts and biotech startup founders. We had the privilege of interacting with leaders such as Dr. Anjali Kulkarni (VP, 4baseCare), Ganesh Muthu (CEO and Co-founder, Omixir), Rimjhim Agarwal (Co-founder, BrainsightAI), Madhava Shyam (MD Researcher, QpiAI), Dr. Ramgopal Rao (Senior Academic Manager, Biocon), and Siva Shankar Nanda (CEO and Founder, InovAugmet). Listening to their journeys, challenges, and perspectives on the future of biotech was both humbling and inspiring. It gave us a clear picture of where the industry stands today and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Looking back, Seed Week was more than just a series of sessions. It was a complete experience; one that built confidence, improved communication, and deepened my understanding of both bioinformatics and the broader biotech ecosystem. I truly regret not being able to attend my second Seed Week, but I am grateful to Bversity for giving me this opportunity. It was an eye-opening experience, a confidence booster, and without doubt my favourite part of the program.
